New "Revelations" in SCO vs Linux
WARNING: The sarcasm factor is quite high in this post.
Remember that whole crazy SCO thing that had so many people in panics, laughing fits, cackles of impending cash windfalls, or stunned silence? Well, there's some new revelations that even non-cynics won't be too terribly surprised about. For example, Microsoft really was involved in getting SCO that funding from Baystar. Oooh, surprise, surprise (pardon my sarcasm, but to so many of us it's like someone coming up and going "The sky is blue!" Anyway, "proof" (I'm not a lawyer, but I suspect that someone at Baystar alleging that someone at Microsoft promised that their investment in SCO was guaranteed needs to be backed up by paperwork to be considered legal proof) is useful for those who aren't so jaded, and is useful for waving at Microsoft in the next round of anti-trust fun. No, no trying to destroy rivals using underhanded means, there. It's hard to feel sorry for Baystar given that the result of their "investment" was SCO's attempt to steal the hard work of hundreds of people. If you want some fun, go read their latest keystone cops legal antics in their case against IBM. I keep waiting to hear that the judge has thrown the whole lot of SCO folks into jail for contempt of court.
